AI-powered management software or a training and nutrition layer: when each one makes sense

WizFit and Virtuagym both use artificial intelligence to build training plans, but they solve different problems. Virtuagym is all-in-one management software (members, billing, bookings, access and app) that adds an AI assistant to help trainers build plans. WizFit is not management software: it's the training and nutrition layer that works alongside the system the gym already uses, designed so every member has an up-to-date plan.
Summary
- Choose Virtuagym if you want a single vendor for full gym management and want trainers to build plans with AI help.
- Choose WizFit if you already have a management system and what's missing is getting every member an up-to-date plan, adapted to the equipment at their location, even without a session with a coach.
- Both options keep the coach in control of the plan. The difference is who generates the plan and what else the platform includes.
Side-by-side comparison
| WizFit | Virtuagym | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | AI training and nutrition platform for gyms. It's not a CRM or management software. | All-in-one management software: members and contracts, billing, bookings, access control, CRM and a gym-branded app. |
| AI for plans | Generates each member's plan based on their goals, history and the equipment configured at their location. | MAX AI Coach, inside the Virtuagym Coach app. Builds plans in about 20 seconds with a library of more than 6,000 3D-animated exercises. |
| Who generates the plan | The coach, or the member in Self Service mode. Each gym decides whether the plan is delivered instantly or reviewed first. | The trainer. Virtuagym mentions a consumer version within Virtuagym PRO, without detailing its features. |
| Coach review | Optional, based on each gym's rules. | The trainer reviews and adjusts each workout before assigning it. |
| Equipment | Inventory per location: the plan only uses the machines at the member's location. | The trainer can specify the available equipment when generating the plan. |
| Method limits | Exercise library approved by the gym or chain, plus its own rules (guardrails). | The trainer adjusts exercises, sets and reps, and can ask the AI for alternatives. |
| Nutrition | Module built into the same platform: meal plans, photo tracking and shopping lists. | Separate product (nutrition software). AI meal planning was announced in August 2025 as a future update. |
| Body composition data | Bioimpedance integration to adjust plans. | Announced integration with a body composition kiosk as a future update. |
| Cost of the AI | Included in WizFit. | According to Virtuagym, MAX AI Coach is included in the Coach license. |
| Scale | Gyms in 17 countries; site in Spanish, English and Portuguese. | More than 10,000 sports centers and more than 30 million users, according to Virtuagym (August 2025). |
The core difference: who builds the plan
In Virtuagym, AI speeds up the trainer's work: the plan is generated in seconds, but a professional builds and assigns it. That works very well when the gym has trainers with time to see every member.
WizFit starts from a different problem: in most gyms, many members don't have a current plan because there aren't enough coaching hours for everyone. That's why WizFit lets members get their plan instantly (Self Service), with the coach reviewing it only when the gym decides. At Full Fitness, a gym in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, using WizFit took plan coverage from about 8% to nearly all members in 12 months, without adding staff (see the case study).
Can they be used together?
WizFit is designed to work alongside the gym's management system rather than replace it (how WizFit works with your CRM). A gym that already uses management software can add WizFit just for programming and nutrition.
When each one makes sense
- Virtuagym: gyms and studios that don't have a management system yet, or want to replace theirs with one that also includes plans and an app, with trainers who build the plans.
- WizFit: gyms and chains that already have a management system, with many members per coach, several locations with different equipment, or that want to add nutrition to the training plan.
